Scottish Tartan
£70.00
Easy to stitch in warm rich jewel shades.
One of the first things that people identify with Scotland is Tartan. The earliest evidence of tartan dates back to 250 AD, when a fragment was found in Falkirk, Scotland. While woven tartans were made in nncient times, each clan having their own tartan is relatively new and is thought to have begun in the early 1800’s. It was Queen Victoria who first used tartan as a decorating accessory at Balmoral Castle.
