Autumnal Granny Squares Bag

Evocative of harvests, mists and fallen leaves in shades of marron, camel, gold, misty blue, moss, heather and cream.

Granny Squares began in 1891. It was a way to work with scraps of yarn instead of throwing them away and it has been popular ever since. We decided to adapt the crochet design to needlepoint, using long satin stitches to form the squares; long legged cross stitch divides them, and we have added a border of Knitting Stitch; edged the border in chain and blanket stitch and the kit includes genuine bamboo handles.

Kit contains 100% cotton 10 count canvas, printed in full colour, double sided. Enough tapestry wool to complete the design, genuine bamboo handles, needles, a needle threader, a colour picture and easy to follow instructions for stitching and making up, all in a black laminated gift bag.
