Granny Squares began in 1891 in the ‘Art of Crocheting’. It was a way to work with scraps of yarn instead of throwing them away and it has been popular ever since.
We decided to adapt the crochet design to needlepoint, using long satin stitches to form the squares instead of crochet; long legged cross stitch divides them.

100% cotton 10 count canvas printed in full colour, enough tapestry wool to complete the design, needles and needle threader, a colour picture and easy to follow stitch instructions, all in a black laminated gift bag.
