Tapestry has been called a mirror of history and there have been references to this art dating back to biblical times. However, it is the European Medieval period from which we have drawn so much inspiration. The most beautiful examples came from Flanders and France.
These designs have been inspired by the Legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table written in the late 15th century.
